lethallergic:

I don’t really know, just freeform ranting here, but all these fanaccounts of Jeongguk in Hongdae and all the selcas he took with fans hits me with such an enormous wave of admiration (how is it even possible to love him more?), and I think it’s because a part of me feels as though Jeongguk went there seeking to roam a place full of life and ambition where he’d slowly forgotten to appreciate through the monotony of his schedules shrouding him up until now. It feels almost as if Jeongguk wanted to remember his original intentions as an artist, regain a sense of passion from the rawness of street performers, and at the same time, remember what it’s like to just step away from the fast lanes and bask in the mundane.

You could really see it on his face when he was just watching at the sides that Jeongguk might have went to Hongdae looking to find something, inspiration maybe, renewed and refreshed purpose because perhaps the Big Bang concert had him reflecting too hard on himself. Like instead of motivating him to excel, it made him feel small and lost and surfaced his insecurities? And yet, along the way, him interacting with fans might have been another special thing he took away from that night, and you could see how genuinely happy he was in all these pictures and videos. He is so, so sweet and misses his fans that he took pictures with everyone who asked, even hung out with them for a bit and treated them like any other person there—not like a worldwide musician. Something tells me that Jeongguk is such a kindhearted boy who would never refuse to giving out signatures or pictures unless it was a significant inconvenience.

I know Jeongguk is young, but he isn’t a child anymore, and I seriously mean it when I say he’s one of the most down to earth guys I’ve ever seen in the industry (all of Bangtan are, really), and I know he’s always going to be that way. Seeing him interact with fans and strolling around Hongdae is honestly like witnessing any other humbled boy walking around the city, not someone who’s had a world tour in multiple different countries with millions of fans or is a placeholder on Billboard’s music charts. And as simple as it may have been, I’ve grown so much more appreciation for Jeongguk after all of this, the way he might have went back to the roots in search of motivation in its freshest form, the way he needed some form of escape but also something to open his eyes. I hope that whatever reason Jeongguk went to Hongdae with, he left with fulfillment of that purpose.
